White Bean And Cabbage Soup
Serves: 6
Ingredients
- 2 cans white beans, drained
- 1 teaspoon cloves
- 1 diced onion
- 3 sliced carrots
- 2 pounds smoked ham hocks
- 4 quarts water
- 1 tablespoon chopped parsley
- 1 bay leaf
- 2 minced garlic cloves
- 1 pound diced Yukon Gold potatoes
- 1 large cabbage chopped
- 1 stick butter
Instructions
- Bring your water to a boil in a stock pot. Then add in your ham hocks, cloves, carrots, and onion and parsley .Allow the mixture to cook for an hour on a simmer.
- Add in your bay leaf and potatoes and stir your soup well. Allow this to cook an addition 20 minutes and then add in your cabbage until it becomes tender.
- Discard the bay leaf and then serve your soup hot.
