Cabbage with Beans
Serves: 3
Ingredients
- 2 (14 ounce) cans white beans
- 2¼ cups water
- 1½ cups cubed cooked ham
- 1 chopped onion
- 2 tablespoons butter
- ½ chopped white cabbage
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Rinse and drain the beans, then mash half of them and set aside.
- Sauté the onion and cabbage in the butter in a pot on the stove until tender.
- Stir in the ham, water, seasonings and the whole and mashed beans.
- Cook for 5 minutes over a medium heat.
