Churros
Ingredients
- 2 cups of water
- 2 cups of flour
- 8 Tbsp of Butter
- 8 eggs
- 4 Tbsp of granulated sugar (or as much sugar as you like, I have a sweet tooth)
- 1 Tspn of salt
- 1 Tspn of Vanilla extract
- Granulated sugar + cinnamon
- *Nutella
- Oil for frying
- Tools
- Piping bag
- Large star piping tip
- Table knife
*The recipe can be doubled or divided depending on how much Churros you want.
Instructions
- Bring water to boil in a large saucepan. Add sugar, salt, butter and boil.
- Reduce the heat and add flour stirring constantly using a spatula, stir on low heat for approximately 5 mins.
- Remove saucepan from heat and continue stirring the mixture to cool it down, during this time you can add the vanilla extract.
- Once it has cooled down, add eggs one at at time ensuring that each egg gets incorporated into the mixture before the next one is added.
- Transfer the mixture into a piping bag fitted with a large star tip.
- Heat the oil, pipe the mixture into the heated oil (use the knife to cut at the piping tip once you have gotten the desired length).
- Allow to fry for about 5-7 minutes or until golden brown
- Drain on a paper towel
- Roll the Churros in the granulated sugar-cinnamon
*Drizzle a little bit of Nutella on the Churros (optional)
